- Music Management 1999-2011 -
From the beginning of their partnership in 1999 through 2011, Star Drums and Lady keys were managed by Barbra Crain (aka Music Mama) of Bc Enterprises. Via the auspices of the Washington Blues Society, Leslie and Barbra met in 1994, the year he swept the music awards. Barbra was a free-lance writer for the blues media papers at that time, and Leslie asked her to manage his business affairs for his musical career.
Since 1998, Barbra has managed the business affairs for Star Drums & Lady Keys, including providing a rehearsal room for their weekly practices, which doubles as a recording studio for CD’s. Barbra negotiates and writes their music contracts for public gigs and private parties, sells their collection of 3 CD’s, and keeps the media informed of their regular gigs and special events. And of course, Barbra collects their music income checks and does the accounting. A few years ago Gael and Leslie wrote a song for her birthday called…’Music Mama’, which is included on their second CD, and has become Barbra’s moniker in the music community.
